CONCEPTUAL OBJECTIVES OF CORPORATE PLAN
FOR SRI LANKA INSTITUTE OF ADVANCED TECHNOLOGICAL EDUCATION -SLIATE
YEAR 2006 – 2010 (FIVE YEAR PLAN)

• Set up ATI in each district at the end of 2010
• Produce 25,000 graduates from SLIATE by the end of 2010
• SLIATE has to be strengthened academically and physically as policy making body to develop human resources for Middle level technicians
• SLIATE has to be housed in its own building
• All ATIs should be equipped with IT laboratory which should be able to accommodate at least 50 students.
• Students of ATIs should be competent in the field of Information Technology and English language.
• Reduce the dropout rate to minimum possible.
• Make this institute as a center to produce qualifications for career development of employed technological personals.
• SLIATE should be recognized as a bench mark for technological education.
• Bring each ATI to the possible level of self-financing institute.
  Provide training for all academic and non-academic staffs.
• Develop the system for recruitments, promotions and transfers for academic and non-academic staff
• Develop and introduce staff appraisal scheme for SLIATE officers to strengthen their academic and managerial capacity

• E-Administration Management System
• Introduce and practice good governance
• Develop and maintain Management Information System
• Review the curricula of all the courses conducted by SLIATE
